About Semilleru

SEMILLERU is an Asturian word referring to sowing and the concept of germination: Something that comes from a fruit and generates a completely new entity.

SEMILLERU is a space for the nurturing and care of film projects, with the goal of creating an environment that respects the times of creation. At the same time, it helps adapt the creative processes of selected projects to the machinery of the contemporary audiovisual landscape, in a sustainable way and preserving their artistic uniqueness.

This program includes: SCampus, a comprehensive educational program aimed at emerging filmmakers, and SLab, a laboratory for auteur film projects.

SEMILLERU is organized by Divertia Gijón S.A. It is co-produced by FICX (Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival) and the Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission. It has the support of the Government of the Principality of Asturias through the Ministry of Culture, Language Politics and Sports, financed by the European Next Generation EU Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. It also has the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) through its PICE Visitors program.

SCAMPUS

An intensive, comprehensive educational program aimed at filmmakers taking their first steps in the audiovisual field. It combines theoretical training with the analysis of practical cases and projects in development.

SLAB

Presentation of projects to industry professionals, mentorship for selected projects in the development phase, and specific awards to support the creation and dissemination of projects.

It will take place as part of the FICXPro conferences to maximize synergies with professionals attending FICX.
