CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE SEMILLERU CAMPUS CINEMATOGRÁFICO (FILM CAMPUS) IS OPEN
Divertia Gijón S.A. opens the call for SEMILLERU Film Campus, whose third edition will be held from 28 October to 23 November, coinciding its second phase with the 62nd edition of the FICX.
SCampus is part of SEMILLERU, a sowing space, a training project and a laboratory for emerging filmmakers, where to sow talent and create an organic and living fabric for networking creation. SEMILLERU is a fertile territory for cinematographic creation, which at the same time helps to adapt the creative processes of the participants and selected projects to the contemporary cinematographic panorama, in a sustainable way and extending their artistic singularity.
The SEMILLERU Film Campus is an intensive film training programme, designed for emerging filmmakers and aimed at encouraging new ways of making and thinking about filmmaking. Its participatory, horizontal and dynamic teaching-learning methodology, understanding the participants as creative agents and subjects of their own learning, offers creators the material and spatial conditions necessary to develop and/or expand their film training.
The training, which will focus on the development of self-produced film projects and/or independent productions as the backbone of content, narratives, aesthetic approaches, production and distribution strategies, will take place in Gijón and will be divided into two stages. The first, from 28 October to 15 November, will consist of intensive training given by filmmakers and professionals from the sector through conferences, workshops and training modules that will address the different creative and business phases of a film project. The second will coincide with the 62nd edition of the Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival, from 15 to 23 November, which will give participants the opportunity to get to know the Festival from the inside, take part in the activities of the FICXPro conference for professionals and attend the presentations of the SEMILLERU Lab projects.
The call is open to aspiring filmmakers and/or emerging filmmakers, of legal age, with a maximum of two feature films made and resident in Spain. Registration is free and can be done through the websites of the Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival www.ficx.tv and SEMILLERU semilleru.ficx.tv until 13 September. The complete rules and the online entry form can also be found on both websites.
SEMILLERU Campus is organised by Divertia Gijón S.A. in co-production with the Gijón International Film Festival (FICX), the Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission and is funded by the Government of the Principality of Asturias under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Fund, Next Generation EU. It also has the collaboration of the Youth Office of Gijón and the Municipal Foundation of Culture and Education and Popular University of the City Council of Gijón.
