DEVELOPMENT MODALITY

ATTENTION: CALL 2023 | CLOSED

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Not have more than two feature films (45 minutes long or longer) made. 
  • Resident in the Spanish state. 
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. 
  • Not having been selected in the SEMILLERU Lab 2022 edition.

REGISTRATION AND SELECTION 

The registration process will be open from June 7 to July 21, 2023. 

Interested persons must:

Modalidad | Desarrollo

MODALITY | DEVELOPMENT 

Project dossier of maximum 8 pages in pdf format in Spanish or English:

  • Synopsis
  • Visual and formal treatment 
  • Memory of intentions 
  • Bio-Filmography of the director, screenwriter and/or producer (if applicable). 
  • Curriculum of the production company (if applicable). 
  • Technical and artistic sheet of the project (if applicable). 
  • Current status and needs of the project. 
  • Schedule. 
  • Budget and financing plan. 
  • Images of the project and/or visual references.
  • Link to previous works (if applicable). 

Script (if applicable)

DNI and/or valid passport .

Registration of people in the different programs included in SEMILLERU (SLab and SCampus) is allowed. However, the same person may only participate in one of the programs. 

AWARDS

MODALITY | DEVELOPMENT 

  • SEMILLERU Lab Asturias Paraíso Natural Film Commission Award for the development of a selected project for a gross amount of €2,000. 
  • FICXLAB Residence: LABoral Center of Art and Industrial Creation is an Asturian institution dedicated to the research and dissemination of new cultural forms. LABoral and the SEMILLERU Management will select an audiovisual project to develop a residency of a maximum duration of 4 weeks, between February and March 2023, with access to the LABoral Production Center and the available resources: Digital manufacturing laboratory, audiovisual equipment and technical support. In addition, LABoral will offer accommodation to the selected artist during their residency period. 

Other awards

  • MECAS Award (International Almost Made Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) for the dissemination of a project, consisting of the project’s participation in MECAS 2024. The MECAS award will be awarded to one of the projects in SLab, considering both the selected projects in Development Modality and (Post)production Modality

  • Not having been selected in the SEMILLERU Lab 2022.

The registration process will be open from July 24 to September 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (GMT+1).

MODALITY | (POST)PRODUCTION

Project dossier of maximum 10 pages in pdf format in Spanish:

  • Synopsis. 
  • Technical and artistic sheet of the project. 
  • Visual and formal treatment. 
  • Memory of intentions. 
  • Bio-Filmography of the director, screenwriter and/or producer. 
  • Curriculum of the production company. 
  • Current status and needs of the project. 
  • Schedule. 
  • Budget and financing plan. 
  • Link to previous works (if applicable). 
  • Link to the view the work-in-progress or the material shot to date. 

DNI, NIE or valid passport. 

AWARDS

MODALITY | (POST)PRODUCTION

  • SEMILLERU Lab Award for the (post)production of a selected project for a gross amount of €3,000. 
  • OpenECAM Award for the (post)production of a project. Consisting of the possibility of using free of charge – depending on their availability – all the means available to ECAM (sets, materials, studios, technical equipment, etc.) for the recording and/or editing (postproduction) of the work awarded during a period of 18 months from the concession date of the award. 
  • DCP Deluxe SEMILLERU Lab Award for the (post)production of a project. Consisting in the creation of a DCP master for the film once completed, valued at €6,000. 
  • Subtitulan Award consists of translation (into English or French or Italian, always starting from an original or translation in Spanish) + subtitling and creation of a DCP with those subtitles. 

Other Awards

  • MECAS Award (Almost Made International Film Market of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival) for the dissemination of  a project, consisting of the project’s participation in MECAS 2023.
