Synopsis

Olivia, an 8-year-old girl, reunites with her father, Alex, after five years apart as he has just regained custody. Together, they travel to three different hotels for three weekends. During these trips, Olivia discovers the fragility of Alex’s psychological universe as she explores the nostalgic, childish and illusory atmospheres of these leisure spaces and loses the innocence of her childhood when confronted with the adult reality revealed by her father.

He is currently in the post-production of his new short film, Campolivar, with producers Oberon Media and Quatre Films. Project selected in “Accion Curts”, in the Mentoring Lab of l’Alternativa and in the FicxProLab, where it also won the New Directors Award of the Principality of Asturias. The project has also been part of European Short Pitch. Right now she is developing her first feature film, The Weekends produced by Oberon Media, which has passed through the residence of the Film Academy, the Lady Help Lab, Dones Visuals’ Accion Viver, the MIA Market co-production forum of Spanish Screenings and the Semilleru Lab.

Notice of Intention:

The film is based on my childhood and my relationship with my father. I would like to conceive this feature film as a space for projection, reflection and representation of this subjective memory of my past. The feature film proposes a trip through different hotels, but with the characteristic that we do it from the look of a girl, Olivia, a look that is transformed throughout the film from innocence to adulthood. The child does not generate a speech with words from his childhood, or at least not from a narrative place, but from an emotional place. The search for these sensations and this emotional discourse will be what will compose the tone of the film. A tone marked by a universe that in appearances seems to be full of masks of illusion and games: of bright and plastic textures, of fair sounds and neon lights, parties and spectacle, of artificiality and euphoria; but at the same time a fragile universe, marked by the coldness, emptiness, imbalance and instability that will be revealed throughout the different hotels.
