Synopsis
A woman narrates her grieving process, recognizing the changes in her relationship with intimacy, her corporeality and the space she inhabits. The plot explores modifications of everyday life, capturing transitions between the mundane and the intimate with static and moving images, sound and text. In the last variation, the protagonist heads towards the mountain; Voices in Basque and Catalan begin to intertwine, dismembering the single point of view, to confront the complexity of two subjectivities (re)inhabiting spaces.
Intent note
There are events that happen to us and pass through us like a knife does. We both experienced one of these events during our shared time in the same city.
We define Moon in Scorpio as an experimental film that, through the photographic and sound material of two women, attempts to create a narrative simulating a single point of view. We take our recovery processes, recognizing sensations and dynamics; and we play with the parallelism between memory and distorted, burned or missing images, which the analog format activates organically. We work with the mechanisms – the landscape – of memory: the story, the forgetting, the details, what affects us, the repetition.
Moon in Scorpio is an act of resistance, a process of mourning that explores the will to reappear, to figure again, in an attempt to express the complexity of what cannot be verbalized.
