CURRENT STATUS OF THE PROJECT:

The project is currently in an advanced stage. We have a final cut although we are open to changes. Image post-production is also advanced due to the lack of some details and effects. The sound mixes are pending.

NEEDS / OBJECTIVES:

The objective is to make the project visible in order to interest potential sales agents and on the other hand advance in the search for the World Premiere for 2023. We are also interested in some interesting awards from the LAB that could help complete the film and financing.

SYNOPSIS:

Jesús (61) arrives at a reception and labor reintegration center after living on the streets for a decade. Now the life of Jesús is full of rules. His fight is meaningless if he is not free to make his own decisions. After years depending on social services, he leaves the program with the risk that his decision entails. Elena (30), coordinator of the shelter flat, is preparing her doctoral thesis on the reintegration of homeless people. After Jesús’ abandonment, her research takes a turn and she focuses her thesis on the life story of Jesús. Elena becomes his only emotional connection.

INTENTION NOTE:

I had a life wants to offer a humanistic vision, far from paternalism, about people who at some point in their lives have been homeless and are now in a process of reintegration. The idea of freedom is implicit in the conflict of each character, individuals who for the most part have been slaves to an addiction but who can come to long for their days on the streets as a utopian time where they were outside any social order. As they begin their rehabilitation process, they must abide by a series of strict rules, a new programmed world away from the routine of the street. The contradiction is latent; they have fulfilled each of the conditions that would help them reform themselves and over time they realize that the dreamed paradise does not exist, that they will never become autonomous. Perhaps the reward for so much effort was not worth it.
